Hi John,

I had the chance to visit San Francisco over the Memorial Day weekend and stopped by Aqua Forest Aquarium (AFA), one of the two authorized distributors of ADA goods in the US.  I also stopped by Ocean Aquarium, a local fish shop that has over 150 running tanks.  Here are some pictures, if you would like to send it out to the other members, or included it in the next newsletter.  I would not mind presenting at a future meeting to elaborate/include more pics and answer any questions members may have.

I was highly impressed with this store; their show tanks were amazing and the staff were friendly and highly knowledgeable regarding their products, plants, and livestock.  I was able to purchase some Mini Pellia/Coral Moss (Riccardia chamedryfolia), Dwarf Baby Tears (Hemianthus callitricoides), and Fire Red Cherry Shrimp; and they even provided me with a styrofoam box and heat pack for the plane ride.

Welcome
Madison Aquarium Gardeners Club members exchange ideas about freshwater planted aquaria. This is where beginners get a good start and experienced hobbyist share discoveries as they follow their curiosity. A good mix.

We're pretty informal. No dues. We are supported by a development grant but always welcome voluntary contributions to help build our lending library and pay the pizza delivery guy.

Most of the year we meet once a month. Science House, a quaint white and yellow painted old frame structure in the center of the University of Wisconsin Madison Campus is where we gather. We have a topic, refreshments, Q & A, library check-outs and a small plant exchange. Attendance is between 12 and 16, though our mailing roster is twice this number. It's hard to get the 12 - 16 attendance during summer, with traveling and mowing the lawns being an understandable diversion. So, no regularly scheduled meetings in July and August. However, we're considering mini meetings and home visit aquarium photo shoots.
